The Mini-Cassia Chamber Ambassadors hosted a ribbon cutting at a new Veteran’s memorial at Kiwanis Park, next to the airport in Burley.
The Kiwanis Club of Burley and the Mini-Cassia Veterans recently recruited help from local businesses to replace a stone monument that had fallen into disrepair. Zane Gillette of Streamline Precision was kind enough to donate a new stone with engravings that honor all branches of the military and all who have served and continue to serve. Concrete was also donated by Kloepfer Concrete and labor was donated by Thompson Concrete.
With the help of students from the Mini-Cassia Tech Center and their instructor Casey Jones, the Sherman Tank was repainted using paint donated by Pro Paint in Burley. Both of these projects were a nice improvement to the Park.
The Mini-Cassia Chamber Ambassadors hosted a ribbon cutting at Gertie’s Brick Oven Cookery located at 424 Oneida Street in Rupert, to commemorate their grand opening. The business is managed by General Manager Joe Sonius, who is pictured cutting the ribbon with his restaurant staff. Gertie’s Brick Oven Cookery is famous for its “Pizza Extravaganza”; All-You-Can Eat Pizza, Salad Bar, Garlic Bread, Pasta and Desert Pizzas. The Mini-Cassia Chamber Ambassadors hosted a ribbon cutting at Blue Dane Coffee Co. 632 5th Street in Rupert, to commemorate their grand opening after a remodel.
Blue Dane Coffee, formally Forever Friends, has been open almost fifteen years. The proud new owners are Jenny and Sam Fife. We proudly serve Full Circle coffee and Tea Guys loose leaf tea. Both are all organic and free trade products. We have a wide variety of specialty drinks. Mary Lou’s Flower Cart in Burley was opened in 2005 by the current owners LeRoy, Ronda and their daughters. The business was formerly known as Klink’s Florist and the new owners thanked Albert for his encouragement and help.
LeRoy doesn’t think of this as a business, but more of a community service as he always hires high school students to help out in the green house and give tours through it.
They make floral arrangements for any occasion, offer custom potting services, landscaping services and even carry fresh cut Christmas trees and wreaths. They are committed to offering only the finest floral arrangements for any occasion backed by service that is friendly and prompt.
