Well, hopefully the sun is here to stay and we are done with snow for a while.  Although my kids loved watching our spring snow showers we had last month, I think it's safe to say we are all ready for some warmer weather to stick around for a while.

What a wonderful turnout we had at the Annual Installation Banquet!! Despite the first real blizzard of the year, you turned out in good numbers and I'd like to thank you for the support they showed that Thursday night.

I had the honor of being officially installed as the chamber president for 2013 and I was very grateful for the support I felt from the members.  Darrin Preece, the immediate past president, did a great job conducting the majority of the meeting and we had some good participation.  I particularly enjoyed Wally Studer's account of the blending of two chambers that took place 20 years ago.   From his report it wasn't all roses, but through hard work and perseverance, he and his board were able to bring the two communities together in a way that had never been done before.   Now 20 years later we are still reaping the benefits of their efforts for which I say thank you.  Granted, we are still working on keeping those bridges strong.  And because people are still people, it will likely always be a challenge--but one that the Chamber of Commerce is up to.

This restaurant has re-landscaped most of the property, resurfaced the patio and some walkways, added new patio furniture, refreshed the outdoor playland and repainted the building. They have also added a second order point in the drive thru to help speed customer service. This is what they call tandem ordering where they can take two orders at the same time, one behind the other.

Inside the restaurant, they have remodeled the entire dining room with new and expanded seating everywhere and new colors. New tile wainscoting and walls also add to the restaurants upscale contemporary look and feel. Both bathrooms have also been refreshed. It’s a very nice upgrade and they want the Mini-Cassia area residents to come and enjoy the newly remodeled McDonald’s.
