Fit, Food and Fun in the Park is the name given to the summer reading program activities held at Storybook Park. This program is a partnership between Cassia Regional Medical Center, Burley Public Library and the Cassia County Schools. It is free and open to all children in Burley! All kids are invited to come by for fun games, activities, a story and stay for a free lunch. (Lunch provided to all children between the ages of 1 and 18; parents may purchase a lunch, if they wish)

Minidoka Memorial Hospital 10th Annual Bike Ssfety (10:00 am - 12:00 - noon)
Ride for Safety, Friday July 2nd, 10:00 am to Noon on the front lawn at Minidoka Memorial Hospital. Kids bring your bikes to the hospital between these hourse and get a free bike helmet, free bike inspections, free decorations, free hot dogs and drinks. Decorate your bike at the hospital on Friday and ride in the 4th of July parade on Saturday.

Pottery For Youth (1:00 pm)
Discover the artist within you. Create something beautiful by learning how to make your very own pottery. Students will create works of art such as cups, pinch pots, or bowls that can be used as functional pottery to hold drinks or food. High-DYnamic Range Photography (7:00 pm)
This class involves instruction regarding what high dynamic range photography is, how it works, the software it uses, and how to effectively use it. Bring a partner and join the University of Idaho Extension Educators for a fun day of home canning, freezing and drying on July 19th at the Cassia Couty Extension Office.   The workshop will start at 10:00 AM and end at 3:00 PM.   Participants will receive food preservation handbooks, lot of hands-on experience and an opportunity to have fun and learn about food preservation techniques and equipment.  The schedule for the day is: 10:00 AM Equipment and Food Safety; 11:15 Session I; 12:30 Session II and 2:15 Session III.  You will need to bring a sack lunch. Mitch Hodge, local strongman, will be performing feats of strength at the Baseline Barbecue on July 29 at 6:00 PM.   Free hot dogs.

Mitch has travled the country perfoming feats of strength with the Power Team and Josh Weinhart Ministries since 2002.  Mitch has competed on the national level in bodybuilidng and is a former Mr. Idaho, Mr. Northwest, Mr. Wetern USA.  Mitch uses strength and power to cruch concrete blocks, break handcuffs, and performs many other feats of strength.  Bring a banket or lawn chair and enjoy!

Broadening Youth Reading Interests! (5:30 pm - 6:30 pm)
DeMary Library in Rupert is having a fun and exciting youth reading program starting July 21st and ending on August 11th!  Geared specifically for 6th, 7th and 8th graders, this program will work to broaden the reading interests of our youth!  There will be a pizza party for all participants as well as the chance to win prizes and movie tickets!   The first meeting will be held on July 21st at 5:30 p.m. at the Library, please plan on attending! This is when reading and prize information will be given out.

Celebrate Recovery (6:00 pm - 10:00 pm)

Are you plagued with HURTS, HABITS & HANG-UPS.  Celebrate Recovery is a christian based  12 step program.  Celebrate Recovery is for anyone with the courage to be honest about life's hurts, habits, and hang-ups, who is willing to open their life to healing and change.  The group meets every Friday at 6:00 p.m. for a meal, 7:00 p.m. is worship and teaching, 8:00 p.m. is small groups (gender specific) 9:00 p.m. Solid Rock Cafe.  Child Care is provided.  Mountain View Christian Center is located at 317 W. 27th, Burley, Id.  Please call 208-678-5460 for more information.   "The best place to be on a Friday Night"

"SUMMER AT POMERELLE" (12:00 - noon - 6:00 pm)
Plan your summer now...The Triple Chairlift operates for scenic rides!!
Pomerelle's summit is 9,000 feet and offers a panoramic view of the Magic Valley and beyond. Ride to the top and choose one of three ways down, ride, hike or mountain bike. The Triple Chairlift is equipped to take your Mountain Bike to the top. Bring your family and make it a day of hiking or biking the Pomerelle and Lake Cleveland areas. Mountain bikers are required to wear a helmet and closed toe shoes. At the lodge challenge friends and family to a game of horseshoes and volleyball.

Summer Operation:
Weekends - Saturday & Sunday, Noon to 6:00 p.m.,
through Labor Day, Monday - September 6th

All Day Summer Lift Passes:
Adults - $20 (13 Years of Age & Older)
Youth - $15 (7 to 12 Years of Age)
Children 6 Years and Under ride free accompanied by a parent.

Single Rides:
Adults - $8 (13 Years of Age & Older)
Youth - $5 (7 to 12 Years of Age)
Children 6 Years and Under ride free accompanied by a parent.

Outdoor Grill:
Open Noon to 6:00 p.m. - Saturday & Sundays & Monday Labor Day September 6th. Pomerelle's Grill serves juicy 1/2 lb. & 1/4 lb. Burgers, hotdogs, polish dogs with all the condiments & "Juan Donkey Specials". To quench your thirst, cold drinks, domestic and import beers and wine are available, plus the crowd-pleasing ice cream! Come enjoy the outdoor deck with tables and umbrellas as you enjoy your food and drink or take your food to your favorite mountain meadow for a picnic.
